The construction and design contract for the SQU-Khoud six dual carriageway project has officially been awarded by the Muscat Municipality, a service entity that serves the residents of the Governorate of Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, in several sectors including health, technical, administration and finance.

The project extends from the roundabout of Khoud district 6 to the traffic light intersection that is located right in front of gate No. 2 of the Sultan Qaboos University.

Scope of the SQU-Khoud Six dual carriageway project

The SQU-Khoud Six dual carriageway project involves the development of two lanes, with a total of 3.5 kilometers in each direction, alongside side lanes for pedestrians that will run for 7 kilometers running in both directions. The project will also feature the installation of water crossings as well as side barriers.

As per the construction contract, the existing roundabout located in the sixth district of Al Khoud will be converted into a four-way intersection that will also include light signals. The four-way intersection will be built to lead to the front entrance that leads up to the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital. This will specifically be in front of gate number 2 of the Sultan Qaboos University, the only public university in the Sultanate of Oman
