Renovations for a new DoubleTree hotel will soon commence in downtown Clarksville, Tennessee. This is after a franchise agreement was signed between BNA Associates and Hilton. In essence, the new hotel would be opened as part of BNA’s upcoming Riverview Square project. This development will be next to the new F&M Bank Arena.
A BNA partner, Philip Welker, said the new DoubleTree hotel is the perfect complement to the F&M Bank Arena. More specifically, the hotel would serve well as a family-friendly getaway for large groups, independent business and leisure travelers. Welker also added that BNA was pleased to partner with Hilton on the hotel’s renovation as part of Riverview Square.

Plans for the DoubleTree hotel renovation
The design plans by Johnson Studio will transform the Riverview Inn into a 156-room DoubleTree hotel. Other featured amenities at the hotel will include an expanded lobby with outdoor space, along with a heated indoor pool. In addition, a restaurant overlooking the Cumberland River and 4,000-square-foot ballroom will also be part of the new improvements.
An added benefit for residents of the DoubleTree hotel is its close proximity to the upcoming Riverview Square project. Once this next-door development is completed, guests will be within walking distance of sporting events, concerts and conventions. Several such events will be hosted at the upcoming 6,000-seat arena, called the Ford Ice Center. This sporting facility is intended to accommodate 5,500 fans for basketball games, 5,000 for hockey and 6,000 for concerts. Austin Peay State University’s basketball programs will be the major tenant of the facility. The Riverview square developments are all expected to open by fall of 2023.
Furthermore, a state-funded $14 million 724-space parking garage will be located in-between the DoubleTree hotel and F&M Bank Arena. This will ensure that parking spaces are provided for the 6,000-seat arena, Riverview Square and the hotel. The hotel owners, known as the Hand family, donated the land for the garage.
