The Red Wolf data center campus in western Wyandotte County, Kansas, is a planned digital infrastructure development intended to expand data processing capacity in the region. The project is expected to support large-scale computing operations and related services.
Red Wolf DCD Properties LLC has submitted an application to the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas, for the development of the site, which is located west of the Kansas Speedway.
According to the proposal, the campus would include six data center buildings, each designed with a capacity of approximately 100 megawatts. The total development is planned to cover around 1.8 million square feet.
The application is currently under review as part of the local planning and approval process required for the project to proceed.
As of now, the proposal has not been submitted to the planning department and is not on the agenda for review. While initially approved in mid-2025, the project faced a failed zoning vote and subsequent lawsuit in late 2025, pushing the expected final decision and development, which features six buildings totaling 1.8M sq ft, into 2026.
Other Projects
The Red Wolf data center campus in Kansas is not the only one marred in controversies with Project Marvel having its share. The Bessemer City Council has approved a 900+ acres rezoning for the expansion of the $14.5bn Project Marvel data center campus. Approved earlier this week in a public meeting with residents, the council voted 5-2 to rezone 900 acres of land. The land had been allocated for agriculture but instead is to be implemented for light industrial use. Nonetheless, the move clears the way to expand the controversial campus to roughly 1,600 acres. Despite approval, residents are still in opposition of the project’s approval noting that it should not be permitted to expand.
