Skanska has inked a contract with an existing client to build four new data centers in the southeast region of the USA. The contract is worth USD 1.2 billion, about SEK 11.2 billion. Additionally, this will include in the US order bookings for the third quarter of 2026.
Scope
The scope of the project involves the construction of four data centers. This will total to approximately 75,000 square meters (808,000 sq-ft). Furthermore, the work includes constructing the shell and interior fit-out for technical spaces, support areas, and office functions.

In another similar project,In August 2026, Skanska secured a USD 238 million (approximately SEK 2.2 billion) contract with an existing client to construct a major data center facility in Virginia, USA. Moreover, scheduled to be booked under the company’s third-quarter order intake for 2026, the project involves building a 22,000-square-meter (237,000-square-foot) facility that features five individual data halls, essential underground site utilities, and comprehensive surrounding site work.
Lastly, serving as the second building erected on the client’s campus, construction kicked off in August 2026. Furthermore, it is targeted for completion by May 2028.
