On projects such as the New Terminal One project, AECOM Tishman and Gensler form the design-build team of the project. AECOM Tishman is a construction company engaged in mixed-use and mega-development projects in the United States. Gensler is a global design and architecture company. The design-build companies are expected to collaborate with SITA, an IT-based company in Switzerland to ensure the functionality of all systems. This entails the testing of these systems and ensuring they are ready for use before deployment. The systems will be integrated as part of the Master Systems Integrator (MSI) Alliance. The Expected Timeline for the Delivery of the Project

Originally planned to break ground in 2020, the multi-billion JFK Airport Expansion project encountered a setback with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The project’s construction commenced in September 2022 with the ground-breaking ceremony of the New Terminal One. The delivery of the first phase of the project is expected to be opened in June 2026. This will include the opening of 14 new terminal gateways that will ensure passengers get to their airline destinations in time. It will also ensure a smooth flow of traffic without congestion or chaos in the terminal. The entire JFK Airport expansion project is scheduled for completion in 2030. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) will be responsible for several improvements. This includes improving roads, car parks, and utilities, including a new electric substation to facilitate the completion of the project on time.
