The Saudi German Hospital Expansion Project in Jeddah continues to progress as part of Saudi German Health’s broader strategy to increase healthcare capacity and improve patient services across Saudi Arabia. The project includes a new outpatient tower with 14 clinics and an expansion of inpatient facilities through the addition of 207 beds. The development was awarded to International Hospital Construction Company (IHCC) under a contract valued at approximately $59.5 million and was originally scheduled for completion within 36 months.
Saudi German Hospital Current Status Update (2026)
As of 2026, Saudi German Health continues to expand its healthcare infrastructure across the Kingdom. The Jeddah expansion remains part of the group’s long-term healthcare growth program, which includes the wider Jeddah Medical City masterplan. The medical city incorporates the expansion of the existing Saudi German Hospital alongside several specialty hospitals and outpatient facilities. IHCC remains responsible for the turnkey delivery of the development.
Recent developments across the Saudi German Health network indicate continued investment in outpatient services and bed capacity. In 2025, Saudi German Hospital Dammam expanded its outpatient department by adding 21 clinics, while the group also secured approval to increase Dammam Hospital’s capacity to 300 beds, reflecting sustained demand for healthcare services and reinforcing the importance of similar expansion projects across the network.
The Jeddah expansion aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 healthcare objectives, which aim to increase private sector participation and improve access to advanced medical services. Upon full completion, the project is expected to strengthen Saudi German Health’s position as one of the region’s leading private healthcare providers.
Healthcare infrastructure investment is gaining momentum across the Middle East. Similar efforts are underway in Jordan through the recently announced $1.1 billion Zarqa Development Program, which includes major hospital and healthcare facility developments designed to improve public services and regional economic growth. Both projects demonstrate how governments and healthcare operators are investing heavily in modern medical infrastructure to meet rising demand and support long-term development.
