The Powerhouse Parramatta Museum is a cultural landmark located on the northern bank of the Parramatta River in Western Sydney, and construction of the building is now complete. Powerhouse has confirmed the museum will open to the public in late 2026, with interior exhibition fit outs and public domain works continuing across the site as the project value has settled at approximately $915 million.

Delivery partner Lendlease has completed the main building, matching the pace of nearby public investment such as the Fairfield Hospital Redevelopment, another Western Sydney project moving through major construction. Once its seven exhibition spaces and public domain works are finished, Powerhouse Parramatta is expected to welcome roughly 2 million visitors annually as the largest museum in New South Wales.

Reported 11th December 2024: When will the  Powerhouse Parramatta Museum finally be completed? The NSW government has indicated that the project would be completed sometime in 2025 but more recently during the topping out of the eastern buiding ABC News in Sydney reported that the opening of the Museum  will be inthe later part of 2026. The $900 million Powerhouse Parramatta Museum project has been in the works for over 10 years and  significant progress in recent times. On its roof it is expected to boast a green house, observation telescopes and a beautiful pavilion. The adjoining tower which will be taller is expected to top out in early 2025. The visible exo-skeleton nature of the buildings will allow the interiors to have vaulted exhibition spaces.
