New capacity for NS Square at Marina Bay

The seats, which curve elegantly around the stage, will accommodate a vast crowd of about 30,000 people – significantly more than the 27,000 that the former venue, The Float @ Marina Bay, could hold.

According to the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Ministry of National Development (MND), this space can be reconfigured to host diverse events such as concerts, sports competitions, or even recreational activities and lively weekend markets.

Enriching the overall experience, the venue will house an array of public amenities. Delectable eateries will satiate any craving, while an water sports centre dedicated to canoeing, kayaking, and dragon-boating will beckon adventure seekers. Further elevating the offerings, an elevated swimming pool promises a refreshing escape.

According to the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and Ministry of National Development (MND), a waterfront promenade will gracefully wrap around the stage, seamlessly integrating into a continuous loop encircling Marina Bay. This picturesque pathway will remain open year-round, inviting locals and visitors alike to embrace the scenic surroundings.

Serving as a tribute to the unwavering dedication of all past and present national servicemen, as well as the steadfast support of their families, construction on NS Square at Marina Bay will proudly feature a gallery wholly devoted to the profound significance of National Service. This hallowed space will stand as a profound testament to the sacrifices made and the unbreakable spirit embodied by those who have answered the call to defend the nation’s sovereignty and protect its people. Through captivating exhibits and immersive storytelling, the gallery will provide a stirring glimpse into the experiences that have shaped the lives of generations of servicemen, fostering a deeper appreciation for their invaluable contributions.

The developers have shown a dedication to protecting the environment by creating designs that combine sustainability and comfort seamlessly. Than 80 percent of NS Square is designed to utilize ventilation incorporating well thought out openings and pathways to allow fresh air to circulate naturally. In areas where mechanical support is needed effective systems will operate in conjunction, with the breezes of nature.

In the other parts still needing air conditioning, a cutting edge district cooling system will distribute chilled water from Marina Bay effectively lowering the energy usage of the development. This forward-thinking approach is a testament to the project’s vision – to create a landmark that not only honors our national servicemen but also sets a new standard for eco-friendly design. As construction progresses, a palpable sense of anticipation fills the air, with Singaporeans eagerly awaiting the innovative solutions and timely completion of this remarkable endeavor.
